These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by Finesse Catering, a trading name of Mihai Ostafi, operating as a sole trader private chef in the United Kingdom.

By making an enquiry, booking a service, or using this website, you agree to be bound by the following terms.

1. Trading Status

1.1. “Finesse Catering” is a trading name of Mihai Ostafi, sole trader.

1.2. All contracts, services, payments and liabilities relate exclusively to Mihai Ostafi and not any limited company.

1.3. Any previous or dissolved companies using similar names are not connected to the current business.

2. Services Provided

2.1. Services include private chef hire, event catering, menu planning, food preparation and related hospitality services.

.2. Each booking will specify the agreed menu, number of guests, date, time, and any special requirements.

2.3. Services may be adjusted depending on ingredient availability, dietary needs, health & safety requirements or unforeseen circumstances.

3. Booking & Payment

3.1. A booking is only confirmed once a deposit is paid (amount to be set by you, e.g. 20–50%).

3.2. The remaining balance must be paid by the date stated on the invoice,

at least 72 hours before the event, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

3.3. Payment methods accepted include bank transfer and other agreed methods.

3.4. Prices may vary depending on menu, travel, staffing, equipment and ingredient availability.

4. Cancellations & Refunds

4.1. Cancellation by the client must be made in writing.

4.2. Deposits are non-refundable, unless cancelled by Finesse Catering

4.3. If the client cancels within:

14–7 days before the event → 50% of the total cost is payable.

Less than 7 days before the event → 100% of the total cost is payable.

4.4. If Finesse Catering cancels (e.g., due to illness, emergency or circumstances beyond control), all payments will be refunded in full, and no further liability will be accepted.

5.1. Clients must inform Finesse Catering in writing of all allergies, intolerances, and dietary requirements at least 7 days before the event.

5.2. While every reasonable effort is made to avoid cross-contamination, the kitchen and environment are not guaranteed allergen-free.

5.3. Finesse Catering accepts no liability for allergic reactions where accurate information was not provided.

6. Client Responsibilities

6.1. The client must provide a safe        working environment, including adequate ventilation, lighting, running water, and access to kitchen facilities (unless otherwise agreed).

6.2. The client is responsible for any damage to equipment caused by unsafe conditions or misuse outside the chef’s control.

6.3. Children and pets must be kept away from kitchen areas for safety.

7. Travel & Additional Charges

7.1. Travel fees may apply depending on distance from the chef’s base.

7.2. Additional charges may include: parking or toll costs

hire of equipment

additional staffing (waiters, kitchen assistants, etc.)

late-finish fees for events exceeding agreed hours

8. Food Safety & Hygiene

8.1. All food is prepared in compliance with UK food safety and hygiene

8.2. Any leftover food becomes the client’s responsibility. Finesse Catering is not liable for food consumed after the event.

9. Liability

9.1. Finesse Catering holds appropriate public liability insurance for sole-trader operations.

9.2. Liability is limited to the total cost of the booking.

9.3. Finesse Catering is not responsible for:

 or consequential losses

delays caused by traffic, accidents, weather, or events beyond control

client-provided equipment failure

10. Photography & Marketing

10.1. Finesse Catering may take photographs of dishes or setups for marketing purposes.

10.2. No identifiable images of guests or private property will be used without explicit permission.

11. Privacy & Data Protection

11.1. Personal data is collected solely for handling enquiries, bookings and communication.

11.2. Data is never sold or shared with third parties unless legally required.

11.3. A full Privacy Policy can be provided upon request.

12. Complaints

12.1. Any concerns must be raised during the event where possible so they can be resolved immediately.

12.2. Formal complaints must be submitted in writing within 48 hours of the event.

13. Governing Law

13.1. These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

13.2. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
